Alice Austen Lived Here

Alice Austen Lived Here by Alex Gino

Sam and their best friend TJ are nonbinary and proud, but their history class feels a bit empty when it only focuses on "Dead Straight Cis White Men". When a contest for a new statue on Staten Island begins, Sam discovers the perfect subject: Alice Austen, a real-life photographer who lived with her female partner for decades.

This groundbreaking novel follows Sam’s journey to uncover a rich, hidden queer history and find the courage to stand up for a future where everyone is included.
